<p>Having to delete all contacts from phone. Will lose data. Changing from iCloud, iPhont/iTunes, and Exchange syncing to only Exchange syncing of Contacts on my iPhone.</p>
<p>Last step: gMail contacts as base. Find iCloud vcard backup, bring in to gMail, dedupe. Next find Address Book back up/data and add gMail, dedupe.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After a while, I lose my WiFi connection from my Apple Macbook Pro to the Apple Airport Express, or, seemingly, to the Internet. The only solution is a restart.</p>
<ol>
<li>1. My first troubleshooting, which never works once I&#8217;ve lost connection, is to turn off the Airport. It does not work because then I am not able to turn the Airport back on. Either in the top menu icon or in Network Preferences, the command to turn it on is unresponsive. It just doesn&#8217;t work. It stays off.<br />
If I restart, then turn Airport off then on, it does work.</li>
<li>It may be related to my GoFlex Home, but I can&#8217;t see how. It seems to happen while TimeMachine is running and I try to run iTunes (which has its library and music on the GF Home). Still testing this out.</li>
<li>I renewed DHCP leases.</li>
<li>I performed a reset of PRAM</li>
<li>I did a no-power reset</li>
</ol>
<p>Apple wants $49 to help me with this, and searching Apple&#8217;s support site is, as always, useless.</p>

<p>3/7: Had trouble connecting with the new base. Tech support let me know that Apple&#8217;s update to iTunes 10. made it stop working with the GoFlex Home. The problem was not the network card in the base. It was incompatibility. I&#8217;m returning the replacement base and power cord. Seagate will refund the advance replacement fee.</p>

I am on my 4th replacement, and discovered with this replacement that &#8220;I didn&#8217;t have Apple Care.&#8221; Huge amounts of time and frustration with Verizon yesterday (who denied that I had Apple Care) was differentiated with Apple this morning.<br />
They had a professional who, with the right information, confirmed that I did have Apple Care and transferred it to my current phone.</p>

<p>iPhone is backing up to iCloud, which strips out some of my data, and gMail, which has the most data.</p>
<p>Also backed up using iTunes feature, however that didn&#8217;t work. After I&#8217;d reset my phone (data gone), I went to restore from iTunes and the last backup there was from November.</p>
<p>Restoring from iCloud.</p>
<p>Now, a half-hour after Verizon said they&#8217;d call me back, they have not. Now they called back. I&#8217;m going to bed.</p>
<p>&#8212;&#8211;</p>
<p>Next morning: didn&#8217;t work. No change.</p>
<p>If I don&#8217;t want the chance of being charged $299, I have to take it in</p>

Upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS5. It&#8217;s too slow, so I wanted to go back to iOS4. It can&#8217;t be done according to Apple because it&#8217;s their policy.<br />

They are trying to blame it on the Applications. App developers update their software to be compatible with the current version. That&#8217;s such bullshit being a reason that I can&#8217;t roll back. When I said, &#8220;What if I didn&#8217;t have any apps?&#8221; he said that it&#8217;s Apple&#8217;s policy.</p>
<p>My device got slower with iOS5, so I wanted to go back to iOS4. It can&#8217;t be done. Apple traps you in to an upgrade. I think that&#8217;s to force a hardware upgrade. Fail on Apple&#8217;s part because it will force a hardware upgrade to something else.<br />
&#8220;This shouldn&#8217;t be happening. iOS5 should make your iPhone4 zippier.&#8221; &#8220;This is the first time I&#8217;ve heard of anyone wanting to go back to iOS4.&#8221;<br />

Updating 5.0.1 to see if that fixes speed problem.<br />
Computer backup is in the same place as my iTunes library.<br />

Apparently, <a href="http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/11/10/judge_tosses_ibrick_lawsuit_over_ios_4_slowing_iphone_3g.html">others have had this problem</a> and the courts say that Apple gets to be an asshole.</p>
