I rented a bike yesterday to get around Salida. My hotel was on the
highway and most things of interest to me were downtown. It worked well.
Back at the hotel, one of the workers offered me some home-made kim chee,
which was incredibly good.
I ran into Jim & Ginny yesterday, and they are now ahead of me on the trail.
I had about an hour hitch to get back to Monarch Pass. I arrived to
thunder and slush falling from the sky. The mix of rain, hail, and sleet
continues as I sit in the snack area of the Monarch Pass building.
