An amazing day in Santa Cruz.
I was visiting my mother in Monterey for a couple of days. I hadn’t really thought where I’d stay on Sunday, which is today. I trusted that I’d find the right adventure. I was headed to Santa Cruz, and there’s lots of people in Santa Cruz. Why worry?
Still, I was a little uneasy. I couldn’t get clear on what I wanted: where I wanted to be and the quality of that time. I’m still not clear. Maybe the adventure hasn’t started yet. Tuesday’s my birthday, and I don’t have any plans. I don’t even know where I want to be.
Well, I have one idea: in bed having sex with Raven. And, as it turns out, I’m not that far from his bed.
I drove up from my mother’s to go to dance church. I walked in while it was in full swing and immediately saw Matt stretching on a rug from the Middle East. We chatted a bit, and he let me know that he’d been meaning to let me know I could stay at his place. I’d posted to the faerie list that I was looking for a place for Pride weekend. Cool. Much better than the offers I’ve had in Ben Lomand, just because Ben Lomand is so out of the way. Matt’s place is very central.
I had a great time at dance church. The energy was fun and vibrant, and I was alive with my dancing. The cute guy I’d seen at past dance churches was there. He’s young-ish, sexy and yummy looking. During the closing circle, Matt announced that they were looking for a roommate, and that the cute guy, identified as Raven, was one of the housemates.
I’m staying in the Pink Room, which is off the kitchen of the Locust Street House, and is the room for rent. Raven’s in the back house, which has three people.
I participated in cleaning day for the 418 Project, then to 603 Bay for faerie Pride float work, only I just hung out, talked with Kwai about the Naraya, and set up going to see Kung Fu Shuffle with Terry, Cayenne and Michael, a friend and possibly boyfriend of Cayenne.
The movie was entertaining. Right now, as I settle into the Locust Street House, Matt and Raven are in the kitchen putting things away that had been displaced by a thorough, and evidently much needed, cleaning and painting.
