About Me

Cupcake is John Brennan. I turned 40 the trail. I used to live in Santa Cruz, CA. When I finish the trail, which was the end of the first part of my big long transition, I landed in Tucson, AZ, for the winter and spring (2003).

I'm a writer, performer and troublemaker. For paying work I've worn many hats: high tech work, urban planning, and photography. I work best as the hub of an organization. I moved to Tucson to accept the position of business manager for Outright Radio, which I contributed to as a writer in the 2002 season. I have a short piece on the Bashing Back show. I've also done a lot of volunteer work with queer youth in Monterey, Salinas, and Santa Cruz.

I have an eye on the Continetal Divide Trail in 2004. I'm thinking that might be the last part of my big long transition.

What is this big long transition? I'm still finding out. In general it looks like creating a more fulfilling life now AND still thriving in a comfortable retirement. It's all about quality of life.

Any ideas for what to do when May 2003 comes to a close, and I have to flee Tucson's June? Email me.
